The Story
Small stoneware pestle and mortar for use with spices, hand-thrown by Maria Cabrera, a Colombian ceramicist based in north London. The piece is dipped in three different glazes to create a geometric overlapping pattern. Maria draws inspiration from the simplicity of Japanese pottery, having spent six months in Nagaoya studying glazing techniques.
